Wayne, Pa. (December 10, 2020) —TekniPlex Medical, a TekniPlex business unit and a global supplier of mission-critical, high-value components, materials and solutions for medical devices, will be presenting a webinar on medical tubing material advancements on December 15th, 2pm, eastern U.S. time.
Titled, New Tubing Material Advancements Drive Dramatic Improvements for Critical Fluid Transfer Applications, the webinar will be hosted by QMED and presented by Alex Kakad, global product manager, TekniPlex Medical. (Free registration available here.)
The presentation will look at various factors and design considerations that should be taken into account when selecting the proper tubing solution for a specific application. New and unique material and tubing constructions, as well as advances that offer significant potential medical device improvements, will be discussed. Information presented will include new solutions for peristaltic pump applications, sensitive drug transfers and fluid management tubing sets that can be peeled apart.

Participants will learn about unique tubing solutions for peristaltic pump applications that offer multiple improvements over silicone material options. They will also walk away with basic knowledge on fluid transfer options for drugs suspended in DMSO, as well as get an understanding of failure mechanisms and design improvements for infusion systems. Additionally, validation techniques to ensure consistent dimensional and peel strength tolerance for fluid management solutions will be discussed.
